To discover the unknown remains of the Aude department in the heart of May, this is the challenge that awaits during the Cathar Trails. In Cucugnan , in the Corbières massif , technical tests stand before you, as well as the many castles that will be on your way. The Cathar Trails are 5 races adapted to your abilities and appetites. The "Round of Alycia" and its 12 km with 400m D+ is a solidarity race in support of the "Princess Alycia" association that will suit the neophytes. The "Trail de Quéribus" of 20 km and 1200m D+ is already higher. But this is just a start! The "Race of the Lords" is available in 2 versions: 32 km with 2300m D+ and 49 km with 3200m D+. Finally, for the trail's forcings, the 68 km "Trail of the Donjons" with 4400m D+ will delight lovers of steep journeys. On this occasion, you will not only be able to see the Cathar castles but also to enter and run in their steep stairs. It is a unique, technical route where you will run on rocky and rocky roads, through forests and meadows. A real condensed of all the landscapes of Occitanie, with phenomenal views! You will go to the foot of the Castle of Quéribus, one of the ultimate citadels of vertigo. After a passage through the Roussillon valley, you will see the Castle of Padern and its village. It's breathtaking! The Castle of Peyrepertuse in Duilhac-sous-Peyrepertuse will also be on your way, just like the gorges of the Moulin de Ribaute that you can admire from above. After the race, you can completely change the atmosphere by visiting Perpignan or the museum of the Prehistory of Tautavel, a reference in this matter.
